Annie Hart, Grant Writer and Fundraising Specialist

Annie Hart has graciously taken on the responsibilities of grant writing and fundraising for the Butterflies of the World Foundation.  She is also the creator and producer of the Monarch Migration & Butterfly Festival held annually at the Historic Jerusalem Community Park near Cole, Oklahoma. Each year the festival celebrates the monarchs migration through Oklahoma to instill a deeper appreciation of butterflies and the importance of preserving butterfly habitat, especially milkweed. The festival has brought enthusiastic attendees of all ages, providing the information they can use to create their own butterfly habitats. The success is measured by returning fans, many siting the festival as their introduction to butterfly needs and using the lessons learned in their own gardens and land management plans. Annies association to environmental education includes serving Oklahoma Master Naturalists as volunteer and editor of their newsletter, "The Naturalist", Oklahoma Blue Thumb water education program and Project Learning Tree and WET certifications. Passionate about helping the monarchs, she takes the message to schools, clubs, newspapers and television to share what each of us can do to help. Her favorite concept is "Each of us doing a little, can add up to a lot getting done".
